The Province is undertaking a review of the Municipal Elections Act. One amendment it intends to make is to give Municipalities the power to choose to use ranked ballots in the 2018 election.
Decisions that have not been made include:
- whether municipalities should have the option of using the ranked ballot system for certain offices and not others – for example, only for the mayor.
- Should public consultation be undertaken my the municipality before changing to ranked ballots?
- If so, what should that consultation be?

What are your thoughts on ranked ballot voting? Is it a good thing?
I like it.
