Lincoln’s Tax Dollars at work: 2015 Capital Budget

This Wednesday, January 7th at 7:00pm Lincoln’s new Council will be sitting down with Capital Budget binders and having a really good look at each proposed expenditure for 2015. Here is a link to the draft Capital Budget:

Most budget meetings are open to the public but not open for public input. You are welcome to come and listen.

If you want to provide input you can contact me as Chair of Finance and Administration, at (905) 563-7117 or any of your Councillors. Contact information is at Hall/Mayor and Council/Council (I apologize – The link would not show up here).

Note that there will also be several other opportunities:

Two Open Houses at which displays are set up around the room and staff and Council members are there to receive input and answer questions:

  • Wednesday February 4th, 2015 – Public Open House at the Jordan Fire Hall from 7:00 – 9:00 pm
  • Thursday February 5th, 2015 – Public Open House at The Fleming Centre from 7:00 – 9:00 pm

A Public Meeting in Council Chambers at which you can speak to Council.

Lincoln Council’s Future Focus

At tonight’s Council meeting (7:00pm January 5th, 2015 – Council Chambers – 4800 S. Service Road, Beamsville), Council presents the document that it has been working on since shortly after the election. Councillors for the 2014-2018 term met regularly with a very talented facilitator to bring our ideas to the table. Those ideas are based on what we heard during our campaign period from residents – What should our priorities be?

In order to ensure that we perform measurably, we narrowed all of our concerns and goals to five main areas for focus – and we will refer to this document throughout our term.
